Christmas caroling & Party

For the first time here, I had volunteered myself in the christmas caroling organized by the Passion, Curtin & UWA. It was indeed an awesome event that took place in Karawara which was held at 7pm. Everyone reach there a quarter hour earlier to practise some of the Christmas song (Hrk the herald, Silent night and obviously every caroling for each house ends with the Feliz Nvidad song). Sound quite fun to me and I did play the guitar together with Pauline Tay. Altogether will be 10 houses in 1 hour. So we need to end the caroling at 8.45pm before it getting dark and safety reason. Therefore, we took some candy from the last and thrid house. May God bless u all!. The following nite is the Christmas party (or potbless) I did bought the Kingsize pizza with chicken deluxe menu). Wei yue initiate the party by a curtain games follow by the fist games. Followed by makan2 & singing christmas song..a lil bit of bible sharing whereby esther yew share with us the value or lesson learn from the Nativity of our Lord. The whole things ended about a quater past 11

Can celebrity relationships really survive?

Can celebrity relationships really survive?

Rumors have been tiptoeing around about marriage troubles between Madonna and her husband of seven years, director Guy Ritchie. It seemed to everyone that the once wild, pointy bra-wearing Queen of Pop had settled down for good with her Brit, with her finding Kabbalah, doing massive amounts of yoga, and adopting little David from Malawi. However, all indications point towards a confirmation of a divorce, with word that she's hiring Paul McCartney's divorce lawyer, Fiona Shackleton. Thus, another celebrity marriage bites the dust. Sad, sad, sad. All relationships and marriages face their challenges, but in the world of Hollywood and fame, there are booby traps left and right from being surrounded by gorgeous men and women, having nasty rumors spread, and over publicized romances.

After the jump, pitfalls that celebrity couples face that us average Joe's and Jane's don't have to deal with.

Temptation: the other woman/man

Case in point: Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston

Imagine yourself in Jennifer Aniston's shoes: your husband is the hottest man alive and he's leaving to shoot a movie with the hottest woman alive, Angelina Jolie. The set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith proved to be too much quality time between Brad and Angelina and those pouty lips were no match for Jen's toned arms. Temptation abounds in the sea of endless beauty that is Hollywood.

Over-publicity

Case in point: Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez

There was a time in 2002 where you couldn't turn on the TV or read a magazine without seeing or hearing that dreaded, stupid compound word, "Bennifer." They were the ultimate publicity whores, which probably was the end cause of their broken off engagement. The couple was overexposed in a bad way, resulting in the embarrassing, box office failure, Gigli. No wonder both J.Lo and Affleck try to keep a low profile with their now husband and wife, Marc Anthony and Jennifer Garner.

One is more famous

Case in point: Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe

Reese Witherspoon is America's darling. She was charming and hilarious in Legally Blonde and won an Oscar for her portrayal of June Carter in Walk the Line. Her husband...er, what's his name? Exactly. Ryan Phillippe was suffering from a severe drought of good movie roles, and little fame. Perhaps he felt neglected and emasculated? Whatever the real issue was, he cheated on her with actress Abbie Cornish and the World's population collectively thought: downgrade.

Overexposed by Reality TV

Case in point: Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey

They were like the Lucille Ball and Desi Arnez of the millennium, except she was the wacky blond and he was the straight laced boy next door. Neither one of them was very famous before the run of their reality show Newlyweds, that documented their marriage, showcasing her ditziness and his good guy demeanor. It really catapulted Simpson to celebrity status, inflated her ago, and resulted in her leaving poor Nick. Another couple gone bad due to reality TV: Travis Barker and Shanna Moakler in MTV's, Meet the Barkers.

Are celebrity couples doomed to fail because of the nature of the industry they work in? How would it be possible to avoid these pitfalls?

Letter from Charlyn Tan

Charlyn (middle)

Hi everyone!

At a blink of an eye, half the semester has already passed for those of you who are still in lala-land..

I have just been stressing out heaps with uni work & other issues in my family.. And i'm constantly trying to remind myself that we're always gonna be busy, and life is not a bed of roses. There are days when I just feel like giving up , but I am reminded that 'even when I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me' (Psalm 23).

Spending money on nice clothes and eating may help some of us relieve stress, but true comfort and joy can only be found in our Father. He is always looking down from above, watching over us and bursting to bless us in our life. No matter how much you are struggling with in your life right now, cast all your troubles and worries unto Him and He will make your paths straight.

Remember, prayer is the key to unlock EVERY door in our lives. If you are finding it hard to trust in the Lord fully for you can't see or feel Him, the bible ask us to 'test and see that that Lord is good' (Psalm 34). So try praying & learn how to trust. I came across this singer a few days ago, and I'm falling in love with her voice and the stories that she tell through her songs. Listen carefully to her words & you'll find encouragement in that..

I pray that all of you will be able to seek refuge in the Lord and find comfort in His presence.

Love ya all lots,

Charlyn Tan

Late dinner coz d bakuteh took so long to cook!!

Last Thursday, the cell hv this trip all to Koorong, where we can get cheap christian book, stories and CDs. There i bought this Exploring Church History (20 Centuries of Christ's People) and I kissed Dating Goodbye book..I kissed dating goodbye shows what is means to entrust your love life with God. Joshua Harris basically the Writer of this book shares his story of giving up dating and discovering that God has something even better-a life of sincere love, true purity and purposeful singleness. The price of the book doesn't count as d book itself is so valuable and precious to save the good relationship life and for the church history book, it is well to understand the root of the Universal church and the journey of the Church for 20 centuries.
B4 we headed to Koorong, we had our dinner in Taka (Japanese restaurant in Northbridge).
The next day was a BBQ in Aunty Muni house. It was Poknik and Mul bday and yeah...we reached there at 1pm, the same time the seminar of the old Testament started. I miss the Genesis book as soon as I arrived there in 405 around 230pm...The action in order to summarize the whole book of Old Testemant goes this way
Creation-Fall-Flood-Nations-4000 years-Ur-Persian Gulf-"Salt"-Sarah-Abraham-Lot-Terah-Tigris Euphrates-Haran Terah Dies-Sea of Galilea-Jordan River-Dead Sea-Mediterranean-Isreal-Ishmael Isaac-Esau Jacob-Joseph Egypt-Jews Egypt-400 years Bondage-Moses-'Let my people go'-'No'-10 plagues-Passover-Red Sea-Mount Sinai-Law-Tabernacle-Levites and Priests-Offerings and Feasts-Counting the faces-Kadesh Oasis-12 Spies-Wanders Dies-Moab-Moses-Second law-Dies-Joshua-Jordan-Jericho-Divide Conquer-South North-Divide Settle-12 Tribes-Judges 400years-Deborah-Gideon-Samson-'Everyone did what is right in his own eyes except Ruth and Samuel-United Kingdom-120 years-Saul(no heart)-David (whole heart)-Solomon (half heart)-Divided Kingdom-400 years-North South-Israel Judah-19 20 (Kings in Israel and Kings in Judah)-0 8(Good kings in Israel and Good kings in Judah)-Prophet speak:'shape up or ship out'-Assyria Israel scatter-Babylon Judah exile-70 years-Persia Judah return-Zerubbabel Temple-Esther Queen-Ezra People-Nehemiah-walls-400 years silent-Christ
At last after 400years of silent, God sent his only Divine Son to earth to save all mankind and bring them all to salvation.
The Seminar ended at 7pm and we headed to Izumi restaurant for dinner. Sunday is just the day to do Research Project starting at 930am and ends at 4pm. Using the iron as catalyst and H2O2 as the absorbent. every 0.5 hr, the pH of the solution needs to be taken to show the amount H2O2 leave in the solution. The experiment is run for about 14 hours to see the final effect upon the color of the solution (suppose to be decolourize) and the H202 turns into poison toward the rate of reaction.
The went to Westernex for work and lastly to Rosemoyne High School for badminton together wif Lukme, Robert, Jono and Broto. The interesting part is whereby Msia vs Indonesia and Msia win the match, hehe. My God, wat is goin on!!

Pic wif aunty Muni (Raya last yr-07)
Dear Members,

As we had discussion this evening with our food provider Aunty Muni, Aunty Muni had decided not to provide us the food as a lot of members comments and complaint about her food on last thursday and last few weeks ago. She was afraid to provide us because she can't stand anymore with the harsh comment that members gave to her. Due to that we apologize to her about the harsh comment that made by members. So after this we want members to bear in mind that when we give complaint about food, we need to give comment in appropriate way.
Because we deal we people that much more older and more experience than us, so behave and talk appropriately and politely when we give out the complaints. Therefore tomorrow food will be provide by new provider, hope you guys will give co-operation to the new provider and give constructive comment.New provider will give a trial session tomorrow Monday 31st March 2008. The menu will be 'Nasi Ayam" for tomorrow.Thank you to food committee that very dedicated to solve the problem on food matters.

RegardsWAPEC on behalf of Food committee

We gna miss ur food a lot aunty!!

Friday is damn busy. only 30 minutes at home. The rest all day out

Rizal, Me, Kubara and Pak Zain
Afian, Kubara, Me and Pak Zain (Supervisor)

Ystdy was my busy day. Starting at 7.30am working in symbion till 4pm. need to do lots and lots of boxes until the entire loadin dock for the boxes placement is full for tomorrow stock wat. then at 530pm rush to siobhan house for the CSCA meeting. Before that there is one thing happened in symbion. Since i didnt switch off the car light, i cant restart the engine. Luckily there is one guys help me to restart the car using his mighty lead jumper. in this case, battery size doesnt matter. as long as the lead jumper not deffective will using it. That nite was the cellgroup in andrew house. 2 games were play. one is the guess wat based on action while the mouth shut and the other one is the errmmm forgot. the andrew read and explain about the weeding feast in cana about Jesus turn the water intoi wine. that was the first miracle that Jesus perform in John 2. Jesus, not only turn the water into wine, but also turn it into the best wine ever. That was awesome about our Lord Jesus. Then andrew too explain about bringing Jesus into the recreational part of our life. No matter where we go jz lets Jesus work in our life. Regarding the CSCA meeting, the outcome is to form an initial BOD where Shiobhan herself will become the club president whereby Kaye is the vice. congrate. we need to write a report (100 word is the min) for what are the objective of forming this club. The reason we need to register CSCA under guild is that is there is anything going wrong with the club, the person in charge will not blame us, instead the Guild. So our club will be fully guided under the Guild's umbrella. One activity that CSCA plan is that to have this logo designing competition which is great. The prize suggested was a voucer gift from cole, or Whollies, or Harvey Norman. 2day was the MASCA BBQ but didnt go although kind of 'force' by Potet to join. Jgn la merajuk dude!!

p/s:pic of ystdy event will be uploaded shortly after i receive the pic from andrew and Winnie (erica underwood resident). chow

My first day of the Easter break week whereby I need to start my experiment since time is running out. No time to lose and its almost approaches mid term. My first day in experiment is from 10 till 5pm and Mr Pradeep just explaining on how to set the experiment and apparatus. 2 different catalyst were used which were the Fe2+ and Co2+. The oxidant is the peroxymonosulphate and the absorbate or the contaminant is the dichlorophenol (very toxic and can lead to daeth if exposed to high concentration. The concentration that i deal at is only 100ppm after dilute from 5000ppm. The next day (25.march.2008) is involve the co@+ as a catalyst and the other conical flask is without the catalyst. The experiment is run for 10 hours before the samples is to be taken to the pharmacy for sample testing.
